Launch post - the teaser

Stop the presses! News! Jose Luis and me are going on a big adventure!
Finally, my long awaited holidays are ready. After one year of forced delays and lots of planning and replanning, the pack is ready, the tickets are ready and the plane is also ready.
Under pressure from certain people, I am making an attempt at blogging the trip. I cannot guarantee updates, but I promise I'll try.
For starters, I declare this blog officially started!
This first post has two purposes. The first one is to give a teaser. This trip, although sporty and outdoorsy is probably the most nerdy quest ever undertaken by a geek. I can only say that it has something to do with a ring. Rest assured, all will be revealed in the end. So yes, there will be surprises! I love surprises!
The second one is to explain a particular aspect of how I want to write this blog. If I can, I will not tell you what we are going to do, the reader will discover it as we blog it, and thus it will be as surprising to you as it is to us. I will always tell you what we have done, but not what we are doing next. I do not want to spoil the trip for my imaginary readers and say it all upfront, so I will not highlight what's coming in the next weeks...
But if you like trips and adventures, read on because in this one we have it all.
So here we go, onwards toward an unknown destination!
We could be anywhere, so watch out for us going through your street and if you meet us on the road, make sure to wave and smile, we'll be grateful!

  2. I thought this link was very appropriate to the trip: http://www.antipodemap.com/

It shows two Google Earth windows. Choose a site in the upper window and the application will present you the antipode map in the bottom one...

As you'll see, we'll never be too far away from our friends and family, specially those in Spain: just use your super-eye powers and see as waving from the other side of this great ball we call home!

  5. These "certain people" can be so demanding ! :-)
Have a great trip sir, I'm looking forward to hearing of your exploits so I can live vicariously through it.

Don't worry if you cant update much, I hear they may be lacking certain technologies where you're going. And watch out for the fearsome beasts that roam the countryside there, they're known as "sheep" to the locals but I hear they're particularly savage !!
